About Us

This project was birthed as we discussed what we would tell our closet girlfriends regarding pregnancy and birth if we had only 15 minutes of their time. As two childbirth educators, we teach over 30 hours worth of material to the couples who come to our classes in Boulder, CO, covering nearly everything related to pregnancy and childbirth.

Over the years, our students have raved about the deep impact of this material as they navigate their way through the birthing culture of today. Time and again, couples come back to us wanting to do the class over again with their second babies, but can’t seem to find the time now that they have a little one running around at home. Others have suggested that we package-up what we do in class so they can send it to their sister 2000 miles away. That’s what this product is all about… it’s a childbirth class in a nutshell. The most pertinent, relevant, not-so-easily-found material is bottled-up here in one place, just for you.

We love when women play an active part in their decisions for their bodies and their babies. We love when partners know how to remain close during one of the most raw moments you’ll ever experience. It thrills us to hear from women that they were transformed by the power of their childbirth experience.

Amanda is a Doctor of Psychology, childbirth educator, mom to three young children and gluten-free cook extraordinaire. Judith is a doula, childbirth educator, household engineer and mom to three young children as well.

Over our years of working with moms-to-be, one of the most common sentiments we hear is “I wish someone would have told me”. Or “If I had only known then what I know now”. We couldn’t agree more! It feels good to be an active participant in the process of welcoming your baby into the world. It is our intent to provide you with practical and straightforward information about making this process less scary, more comfortable and downright healthier.

Pregnancy is a time for transformation, empowerment and beauty. A time to slow down and relish the miraculous work of new life growing and developing. Far too often the popular media relates images of women who are disgusted with their changing bodies and terrified of birth. The shows on TV tell story after story of pregnancy as a disaster waiting to happen. In this country where the focus is too often on stretch marks and swollen ankles, it is our passion to rewrite the messages sent out to women.
